Land Divided started out as an experiment in using an old broken photo into a patchworked collaged landscape painting. It was a struggle trying to find the balancing point between it being a distraction and losing the photo entirely. Up close this piece is quite abstracted but from far it really takes on the look of a landscape.

Present-Imperfect
This was my second example at my workshop two weeks ago, showing the difference between drawing and painting in a confined space like Little Deeds and using the entire panel. (And for those of you who read the last blog, I used more of the favorite shirt.)

Little Deeds (of Kindness)
Here is one of the demo paintings that I did at Ormond Beach two weeks ago. For those who know me, you might recognize the blue and purple paisley print from one of my favorite shirts that fell apart! Reuse, reuse, recycle is only the half of it, I just can't let that fabulous material go!! I still have more pieces. :)
Little Deeds (of Kindness), 16" x 16"
The title comes from the song lyrics on the small piece of sheet music that I included. It also reminds me of the spirit of sharing that happened at the workshop, where everyone shared supplies, papers and fabrics. So fun.

Ormond Beach Memorial Art Museum
I had a really fun time collaging with these women this weekend! Thank you Sherrill, Carol, Cindy, Janet and the folks at the Museum. We did 2 days of collage and drawing and painting. For more classes at this great Museum, check out their site here.

This is some of the work that I got done. Thanks to a fabulous donor, the museum was stocked with fabrics, papers and supplies galore. What a treat!
